The way that curriculum is written shows what kind of student one wants to shape. Therefore, curriculum analysis can highlight the interests of the institution that writes it. It is important to analyze and discuss the national curriculum documents, because they represent the legal basis for the construction of national curriculum. The objective of this paper was to identify and analyze the teaching objectives presented in national curriculum documents – National Curriculum Parameters (PCN), National Curriculum Parameters for Secondary Education and Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC) – related to the area of Nature Science and Biology Teaching, through a documentary research. PCN, both for elementary and high school, brings the "for what" of the contents, while BNCC brings a greater concern for the competencies and abilities.
