Abstract

This article seeks to identify and understand the representations of the Movement of Landless Rural Workers – MST in western Santa Catarina, through the newspaper Daily Morning in the years 1985-1989. Through selection and analysis of the news that cited the MST, this paper highlights elements of a production of images and meanings present in journalistic writing, so that the events related to MST exceed the linearity and narrative of daily events becoming also a topic of interest marked by editorials, opinions about everything and representations.
