This article was developed from the subproject of the History of the Institutional Program of the Initiation of Teaching Exchange (Pibid), carried out at the Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (Unesc). We develop interventions in the state technical school Centro de Educação Profissional Professor Abílio Paulo (Cedup) with a third year of Middle Education. The main focus of the interventions is to promote reflections on the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964 - 1985) and its reverberations through the analysis of sambas, understood as a historical source. Thus, the article aims to understand the role of samba as an instrument of resistance and political expression during the Military Ditadura, relating to historical experiences of repression, censorship and social inequality. From the interventions carried out and the relationships built in this process, we conclude that the samba mobilized as a historical source and pedagogical possibility, loaded with meanings and signifiers explicit in circumstances, sentiments, events and resistances of historical periods. O samba showed an important agency to problematize the past and expand the forms of understanding of the ditatorial experience, enabling contact with frequently silenced and marginalized perspectives.
