Abstract

This qualitative research, developed from the perspective of Educational Research Mapping, aimed to map research that references feminist epistemologist Donna Haraway and understand the themes from which her work has been mobilized, with special attention to the field of exact and natural sciences. The mapping, carried out in the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), using the descriptor “Haraway,” showed that the epistemologist is referenced to address themes ranging from the concepts of localized knowledge, cyborg, multispecies thinking, and Chthuluceno. In some works, her ideas are mobilized in a marked way and with theoretical appropriation, while in others, the author appears more superficially. In the area of exact and natural sciences, our research focus, there was a lack of dialogue between Haraway and the works in this field. Although UFAM has programs focused on science education, no research from these programs was found in the mapping with theoretical or methodological dialogue with feminist epistemologist Donna Haraway. The data reveal a predominance of dialogues with Haraway in the humanities and social sciences and an opportunity for theoretical expansion for UFAM's science education programs, which can benefit from critical feminist contributions to rethink practices, epistemologies, and modes of knowledge production in the educational field.
