The objective of this article is to demonstrate in general the function of epoché and phenomenological reduction in Husserl's analyzes and subsequently, the importance of this method in investigations about time. We found that in his work the author considered this method fundamental for the development of transcendental phenomenology. For this reason, we explain that the absolute datum, that is, the pure and immanent phenomenon obtained after reduction, has nothing transcendent. Finally, we point out that even an initial investigation into phenomenological temporality would be incomplete or unfinished if it did not point to: (i) the importance of the noesis-noema correlation and (ii) the function of hyle, that is, of sensitive data in the flow of intentional experiences.
