Abstract

It is known that Physics is not one of the favorite subjects of people during the school period. Dealing with subjects that often seem far from reality, this study fails to be one of the students’ loves. This essay seeks to discuss how Physics is shown in literature and for that, it uses the work "Notes from the Underground" by Fyodor Dostoevsky to demonstrate that literature in a way conditions the reader's vision when using Physics as a metaphor in his writings. In the work in question, Laplace's determinism appears as a world view for the anonymous character of Dostoevsky, causing a certain relationship to be established between scientific knowledge and man.
