CALL FOR SPECIAL EDITION: 'I DON'T WANT TO GIVE EXPLANATIONS, I WANT TO GIVE ENCHANTMENTS': SCIENCE EDUCATION FOR/WITH CHILDREN
Abstract:
This dossier aims to create a fruitful space for dialogue and questioning about Science Education for/with children, especially in the context of Early Childhood Education and the Early Years of Elementary School. We start from the understanding that scientific knowledge is a right of children from infancy and, therefore, needs to be highlighted during childhood, prompting schools to (re)invent teaching to (re)enchant Science. In this sense, we seek to gather manuscripts that, with theoretical and analytical depth, discuss everything from teacher training for working with Natural Sciences with children to the practice of teaching in its multiple dimensions that connect this field of knowledge to these young learners.
Thus, by linking training, research, and praxis, this dossier hopes to contribute to strengthening the field of Science Education studies, highlighting investigations committed to childhoods and to promoting scientific literacy for/with children as a space-time of rights and social development.
