Abstract

This study analyzes how recent literature articulates organizational governance, risk management, and project management, with a focus on innovation in governance processes. A Systematic Literature Review was conducted based on the guidelines of Denyer and Tranfield and the PRISMA 2020 protocol, covering articles published between 2020 and 2025 in the Scopus, Web of Science, and DOAJ databases. The final corpus consisted of 25 studies. The results show that risk management plays a central role in project governance, especially in complex contexts, and that innovations in governance processes strengthen adaptive capacity, risk monitoring, and decision-making. It is concluded that this field is expanding, but still presents analytical fragmentation, indicating the need for more integrated approaches, including closer attention to the third sector context.
