In recent decades, research on the application of biochar for water treatment has emerged as a topic of growing scientific relevance. In this context, the present study conducts a bibliometric analysis aimed at mapping the landscape and trends of Brazilian research focused on the use of biochar for water treatment, highlighting its temporais evolution, main authors and institutions, leading journals, international collaboration networks, and the most frequently used keywords. A Boolean search was carried out in the Scopus database, identifying 268 documents published between 2010 and 2025. Quantitative and visual analyses were performed using the VOSviewer and Bibliometrix tools. The results reveal a significant increase in publications, particularly after 2018, with an annual growth rate of 32.2%. Furthermore, a strong collaboration between Brazilian and international researchers was observed. This study identifies the main scientific and institutional contributors to the field and provides future perspectives on the advancement and consolidation of biochar applications for water treatment.
