Abstract

This study investigated how the literature has explored sustainability management
in the dairy supply chain. A systematic literature review was conducted. The findings indicate that, globally, adopting sustainable practices in the dairy sector brings benefits such as increased productivity, reduced operating costs, and strengthened corporate reputation. In addition, public policies in each country have encouraged sustainable practices, increasing the competitiveness in this sector. However, companies in this supply chain have faced challenges such as high costs of implementing sustainable practices and resistance to changes, which still hinder this
transition. Future research can explore strategies to surpass economic and institutional barriers by enabling sustainability adoption in the sector.
