Strategic planning of the Information Technology Unit of the Education Center - UFSM

The objective of the present paper was to elaborate the strategic planning of the Information Technology Unit of the CE-UFSM, by means of theoretical references and the analysis of the environment in which it operates. The study is characterized as qualitative and descriptive in nature, and information was collected from August 2022 to January 2023, through conversations and meetings with the leadership and staff, and the availability of documents related to the Unit. The strategic planning was made by defining the organizational guidelines, analyzing the external and internal work environment, analyzing the SWOT matrix and the Balanced Scorecard. The result showed the importance of the work developed, considering that there was no strategic planning to achieve the goals desired by the management. During the development of the internship, strategies were established to optimize IT resources, to obtain recognition by the academic community, to fully implement the ongoing projects, and to insert good IT governance practices, as well as to insert activities that involve the interaction and absorption of knowledge by the team, aiming at the development of new internal projects that explore possibilities of innovative implementations.
