Abstract

The rainwater capture and use system is one of the ways to reduce drinking water consumption in civil engineering projects that is easy to apply and low-cost, which is the main objective of this study. To this end, it was proposed to implement a system for capturing and using rainwater in a single-family residence, more specifically the use of this water in the toilet and in a garden tap. Research and sizing were carried out at all stages of the system, such as average rainfall, capture, collection, storage, treatment and pumping to meet the studied demand. With the study, it was possible to have a greater understanding of rainfall data in the region, months in which capture is greater, determine monthly and annual consumption volumes, predict capture and overflow volumes, in addition to predicting a return on investment time for implementation. and operation of the system which is eight years.
