Abstract

This Interview was carried out with professor Dr. Sergio Lorenzato by email, on 12/14/2023. In this dialogue, historical information about his life and work in Education and Mathematics Education was recovered, since when he joined UNICAMP to be a teacher; It was a life dedicated to Mathematics Education and the training of teachers who teach mathematics. In this interview, Professor Sergio presents a little about his history  and life path, from choosing a teaching career to become a Mathematics teacher, to his complete dedication to teaching, research and training Mathematics teachers. A path that has been followed, for many years, by Mathematics Education in this country, alongside many researchers and teachers who dedicate themselves to this cause, through Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.

    Pós-Doutor em Educação Matemática pela Université Laval (Quebec/Canadá). Doutor em Ciências Humanas pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1976), Mestre em Educação pela Universidade de Brasília (1968). Possui graduação em Matemática (licenciatura) pela Faculdade de Filosofia Ciências e Letras de Rio Claro (1965).  É professor colaborador da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
