This essay aims to both explain and answer the question posed in its title: how has feminist empiricism consolidated the argument in favor of mutual benefit between science and society in the literature of the philosophy of science? To explain the question, we resort to historical characterizations of the presence and dissemination of feminist studies in the philosophy of science. To answer it, the article emphasizes the influence of the arguments of Evelyn Fox Keller and Helen Longino on the literature regarding the value-based constitution of scientific production.
