Abstract

The following work intends to answer the question “eugenic technologies must be used just for healing or could it also be used for improvement too?”. Therefore, the text is built on the contextualization and discussion of: (1) the bioconservative view of Jürgen Habermas and Michael Sandel on the problems of genetic engineering usage as a positive eugenie and (2) through the presentation of the ethics theory of Tristam Engelhardt and his applications at bioethics. Finally, (3) some of the reasons that justify biological improvement are analyzed attached to some of the political and social consequences that come from it.
