The objective of this article is to present the status of alterity and phenomenon in Sartre, as dependent on intentionality, as addressed in the Introduction of Being and Nothingness. In this regard, we situate alterity as distinct from intersubjectivity, as something more fundamental, based on The Transcendence of the Ego and Being and Nothingness. Furthermore, the analysis of alterity focuses on the sartrean novelty of transphenomenality, enabling a dynamic phenomenology, far from the extremes of realism and idealism.
