Abstract

This article reviews part of the literature on evolution of species in recent decades, demonstrating that the confluence of ideas from different areas has created fertile ground for the development of new concepts that may shed light on topics widely debated for generations, such as Darwinism. Given the efforts of philosophers, biologists, social scientists, psychologists, among others, significant changes in the debate have benn occurring since the 20th century, leading to the emergence of studies that now consider cooperation as a fundamental element in the social life of species in nature.
