Animais e o Planejamento Urbano
Reflexões Sobre o não-humano nas cidades
Resumo
Na contemporaneidade, a questão animal vem sendo discutida em diversas esferas científicas, sociais e políticas. A importância da relação humano-animal surge nas agendas no cenário das discussões contemporâneas. No campo das ciências geográficas a questão animal assume, a partir dos anos 1990, uma outra dimensão e tem se destacado em relação as novas interpretações do espaço nessa relação humano-animal. A proposta deste artigo é discutir, a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica, a inserção dessa outra discussão animal, proposta por Wolch (2007) nas discussões sobre o planejamento urbano apresentados por Mendonça (2004). Wolch (2007) apresenta a zoópolis, uma cidade híbrida com os animais como agentes co-responsáveis, como alternativa para a urbanização excludente. Atentando também a questão da agência dos animais não-humanos, nesse escopo discute-se as implicações no planejamento urbano, assim como na construção social do espaço. Como conseqüência desta aproximação, destaca-se a necessidade de se rever a interpretação dos animais como sujeitos/agentes na discussão urbana.
