New call for paper: Dossier: Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Social Stratification
The dossier proposes to address the issue of education in conjunction with scenarios of social stratification. In this sense, it considers the historical challenge of schooling in societies marked by colonial exploitation, involving violence against indigenous peoples and black slavery. Social inequality has repercussions on educational inequality, creating a challenging scenario for public policies and effective inclusion, equity, and cognitive and social justice.
Thus, the dossier receives contributions from the fields of Human Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, and Linguistics, Literature, and Arts, especially on Text and Discourse Theories. The interdisciplinary scope aims to offer theoretical reflections, empirical analyses, and new interpretations that contribute to the refinement of the perception of educational reality in asymmetrical and hierarchical societies.
Of interest are papers that address educational policies, narratives and discourses of public and private entities in the “educational market,” and discussions related to perspectives of gender, race, and social class, with their respective emphases. In methodological terms, qualitative, quantitative and quantitative-qualitative approaches are considered, as well as participant and participatory approaches.
The dossier is an initiative of the Interdisciplinary Study and Research Group on Education and Social Stratification (GEPIEES), registered in the Directory of Research Groups of Brazil of the CNPq, certified by UFFS.
