The objective of this article is to analyze the impacts of changes in global temperature on the global economy. The methodology used involved a qualitative approach and bibliographical research. The results found have shown that the lack of environmental concern on the part of nations is implying the waste of more than US $ 1 trillion a year and these costs tend to increase in the near future. Among the studies that aim to integrate the economy and climate, the highlight is the William Nordhaus DICE model, which was awarded in 2018. It was concluded that the best way to reduce the effects of global warming is a sustainable economic development, but that there is still no global consensus for effective efforts to avoid further economic damage.
